The Library is in The Curve on the Prestwich site. This is just south of Junction 17 on the M60 motorway. Turn onto the A56 towards Manchester, and then take the first right turn. At the roundabout, take the third exit on to the Trust site. Entrance to The Curve is through the car park immediately to your left as you enter the site. Then you will see the building ahead of you.

About our Service

Access Policy

Open to everyone using the building, including the public, service users and their carers and families, all staff, qualified and non qualified working for the Trust and partnership organisations, and students on courses and on placement in the Trust.

Collection and Service Information

A multidisciplinary library serving all staff students and users of mental health services.

The book collection covers Psychiatry; Psychology; Psychiatric Nursing; Intellectual & Learning Disabilities; Forensic Psychiatry; Rehabilitation & Recovery; Community Care: Social Work; Neurology; Psychopharmacology; Behavioural Sciences: Psychotherapy; Family Therapy; Cognitive Behaviour Therapy; Counselling; Substance Misuse; Dual Diagnosis; self help and personal development.

1. Self Help, Recovery and Well-being collection of books and DVDs for service users, families and carers.
2.Public Health Materials.
3.Small collection of documents about the history of Prestwich Hospital.

The Library has a stock of around 5,000 books. The Library subscribes to Medline Complete, CINAHL Plus FT and Stahl online. It also subscribes to the Royal College of Psychiatrists journals.
