Health Library & Information Services Directory
We are normally staffed Mon - Fri: 9.00 - 17.00 which is when the library offers the full range of services.,When the library is not staffed 24/7 access is via BWH Trust ID card for reference and computer and Follow Me printing/scanning/photocopying use.
All BWC Trust staff (including locums, observers & secondments) and volunteers are entitled to join the Library and Knowledge Service with either site as their home library.All students whilst on placement at BWH are entitled to join the Library and Knowledge Service with BWH as their home library.Anyone who is a BWC Foundation Trust Member is entitled to join the Library and Knowledge Service.All members of the BASE Library consortium are entitled to request loanable stock using their BASE Library card.Other eligible NHS staff may apply to join the library for a fee.Patients/Carers should visit the Patient Advice and Information Centre (located on the ground floor) as it has information specifically aimed at patients/carers. The library is available upon referral to Patients/Carers where more detailed/in depth information is required, please ask staff at the library counter for help in finding relevant resources.
BWH Library has a collection of approx 2,000 items of stock (books, videos, CD ROM & DVD multimedia items). ,BWC staff and students on placement have access to approx 1,000 e-books (BWC NHS Athens account required).BWC staff and students on placement have access to approx. 13,000 e-journal titles (BWC NHS Athens account required).BWC staff and students on placement have access to the NHS England resources via the Health Information Resources and NHS Evidence web sites (NHS Athens account required).BWC staff and students on placement have access to the Maternity and Infant Care database (BWC NHS Athens account required).WHO - Reproductive Health Library,All resources are accessible from our library home page at,https://www.bwc.nhs.uk/library

The library is on the lower ground floor of the hospital.Access is totally step free from the Hospital Main Entrance. ,Access into the ERC is via a BWH Trust ID card 24/7.Those without at Trust ID card (Mon-Fri 9.00am-5.00pm) will need to press the buzzer and ask to visit the Library. ERC staff will release the door. Please tell them if you need assistance with the doors.The library door is automatic controlled by Trust ID card with a push pad on the counter for exiting.
